As the United States prepares to pull the last of its troops from Afghanistan by the end of August, the journey the U.S. has taken from the beginning of its longest war is coming to a close.

  • Tracking the changing number of U.S. Armed Forces and DOD-funded contractor personnel in Afghanistan between 2007 - 2020
  • Breaking down the number of deaths during the conflict.
  • Creating a timeline of key moments in history
